Bitvavo vs Bitpanda: two ways to buy crypto.

An EEA comparison of Bitvavo’s order book and Bitpanda’s quoted buying. Fusion has separate pricing and should be assessed as a distinct mode.

Order book versus quote

Bitvavo supports orders on its venue: the starting ordinary EUR tier is 0.15% maker and 0.25% taker. The rate depends on the pair and how the order matches. Bitpanda presents a quote with premiums included; it publishes 0.99% for bitcoin and shows the actual charge in each trade summary.

Fusion is a separate Bitpanda mode, starting at 0.25% up to €100,000 in 30-day volume. Its counterparty model does not make that a maker/taker rate on Bitvavo’s book. Prepare the same purchase and compare the crypto received.

Authorisations matched to the activity

Bitvavo B.V. holds custody, venue-operation and transfer permissions. That covers its order-book activity; the absence of exchange using proprietary capital or brokerage execution does not make its venue permission incomplete. Bitpanda GmbH holds exchange and execution services, among others, without being a multilateral venue operator. These are different models.

Availability by residence

Bitvavo’s onboarding list includes Spain and Germany, but not every passported country. The Bitpanda GmbH profile excludes Germany because the provider assigns a different entity there. Comparing these two companies does not establish that both accept a German resident.

Euro deposits and withdrawals

Bitvavo and Bitpanda publish SEPA funding and cash-outs without their own charge. Alternative payment methods and crypto withdrawals may add costs. If withdrawing to your own wallet, compare the network and asset as well as purchase pricing.

Matching a mode to your use

Someone seeking maker/taker order control can start with Bitvavo’s book. Someone preferring to review a locked quote can compare it with Bitpanda buying; evaluate Fusion under its own fee structure and terms. In each case, establish entity and residence first, then compare costs for the same transaction.
