1. Identify your counterparty
Find the entity’s legal name in the terms that apply to your residence. Check the relevant official register and covered services. ESMA maintains a central MiCA register; one brand may operate through several entities.
2. Calculate the cost of your transaction
Check the fee schedule for the service you would use, possible spreads, deposit method and withdrawal costs. Do not generalize a fee from one interface to another or to every country.
3. Understand custody and risk
Read who holds the assets and the conditions for withdrawing them. Crypto-assets can lose value; regulation does not remove the risks. Avoid committing money you cannot afford to lose.
4. Confirm the context
A website’s language does not establish whether it accepts residents of your country. The EEA includes the EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein; check authorization and territorial restrictions for the specific service before registering.
