Bitvavo vs Bybit: 0.25% does not mean the same thing.

The two starting figures can look the same and are not. Bitvavo charges 0.25% only when the order takes liquidity. Bybit EU charges 0.2500% as a single fee on the entry tier.

For comparing the percentage

Bitvavo, from €0 on the euro market, charges 0.15% maker and 0.25% taker. A limit order that rests on the book can pay maker. Bybit EU, from 5 October 2026, charges 0.2500% at VIP 0 if 30-day volume is under €10,000, without splitting the order into maker and taker. Equating both labels at 0.25% erases that difference.

Not the same authorisation

Bitvavo is authorised to operate a platform, as well as custody and transfers. Bybit EU GmbH has custody, exchange for funds or other crypto-assets, placing and transfers. The register does not attribute a platform or order execution to it. The fee does not fill that box.

For moving euros

Bitvavo does not charge for a euro withdrawal. The SEPA deposit on its table is also €0. Bybit EU charges no exchange fee on a fiat deposit and does not publish, in the help article, a single SEPA withdrawal amount. The method is also not in every country. Frequent withdrawals can change the comparison even when the purchase percentages look alike.

What to look at first

If you rest orders on the book, Bitvavo’s maker/taker split is the piece Bybit does not publish. If you only look at the starting taker and the single fee, the two texts say 0.25% and 0.2500% and still describe different rules. Then check the onboarding country: the lists do not match in full.
