Coinbase vs OKX: comparing spot costs.

EEA comparison of Coinbase Advanced and OKX Europe’s order book, with both simple-buy interfaces treated as a different mode.

Pricing for orders

OKX publishes a starting spot tier of 0.200% maker and 0.350% taker for accounts without X-Perps. A derivatives-enabled account uses another table; that rate should not simply be advertised as a lower spot price.

Coinbase Advanced uses maker/taker pricing by product, pair and account tier. Its help centre explains how to consult the rates and requirements. Compare that actual tier with OKX’s table for the same order type.

Quoted purchases

Coinbase Simple Trade displays the transaction fee and spread before confirmation. OKX simple buying incorporates spread in the quote. For the same amount and asset, compare the final result and payment method; a zero-commission promotion does not establish that the quote equals the market price.

Client provider and execution venue

OKX Europe Limited holds venue-operation authorisation among its services. Coinbase Luxembourg provides brokerage and its policy describes access to Coinbase Exchange and other venues or liquidity providers. The different categories describe each company’s function, not an automatic lack of permission for client services.

Deposits and withdrawals

OKX publishes euro SEPA funding and withdrawals without its own charge. At Coinbase, review the charge and instructions for your account’s method. Crypto withdrawals require the same network and displayed transfer amount for comparison; those charges are not included in maker/taker percentages.

What to check for your use

For frequent orders, first note both accounts’ actual tier and maker/taker execution. For an occasional purchase, compare equivalent simple quotes. For a transfer to another wallet, add exit costs and custody terms. In the EEA, confirm Coinbase Luxembourg S.A. or OKX Europe Limited in the agreement.
