Who it fits
Bitpanda buying uses a quoted price with premiums included. Fusion adds a separate interface and pricing, aggregating liquidity while keeping Bitpanda as the client’s counterparty. Compare each mode against an equivalent transaction.
Entity
Bitpanda GmbH, Stella-Klein-Löw-Weg 17, 1020 Vienna, register FN 569240v, LEI 5493007WZ7IFULIL8G21. The FMA authorised it as a CASP on 9 April 2025, under Article 63. ESMA repeats those services and a country list that includes Spain. It does not include operation of a trading platform.
The identity-document policy says the entity depends on residence. For residents of Germany it generally names Bitpanda Asset Management GmbH. This profile therefore does not treat Germany as availability of Bitpanda GmbH, even though ESMA includes DE in the intention field. The United Kingdom is Bitpanda Broker UK Ltd. People in the United States cannot become users.
Services
The authorisation covers custody, exchange for funds, exchange for other crypto-assets, execution, placing, reception and transmission, and transfers. Fusion does not add a platform permission: the page says Bitpanda fills orders as principal and that liquidity is aggregated from more than twelve venues, a figure placed in July 2026.
Premium, fee and Fusion
Opening and keeping the account is free. The bitcoin buy and sell premium is 0.99% and sits inside the price. On the trade summary the fee shown runs from 0.00% to 2.49%. The quote lasts 20 seconds for most assets. Paying the fee in VSN gives a 20% discount on those fees. They do not charge a storage fee for holding crypto.
Fusion, on 30-day volume, charges 0.25% up to €100,000 and steps down to 0.02% above €250 million. That is one figure, not a maker and a taker. Third-party fees can still apply.
Deposits and withdrawals
Bitpanda does not charge a euro SEPA deposit or withdrawal; the bank may. A PayPal deposit is 1.49%. A card can carry bank fees, shown on the transaction. A crypto withdrawal pays the network; Bitpanda says it does not keep that fee and that it adjusts it with congestion. Per-asset amounts are on the limits page and change. On a verified account, the daily SEPA deposit limit shown was €10,000,000 and the withdrawal limit €5,000,000.
Custody
The custody-policy summary says client crypto-assets are operationally separated from Bitpanda’s own, in hot and cold wallets with an emphasis on cold storage, in an omnibus account per protocol and with an internal per-client ledger. It describes multi-signature wallets, encryption and reconciliations. The portion retrieved does not name, in that paragraph, the company that holds the permission.
What to check
See which company the identity policy assigns to you. If you live in Germany, do not assume the contract is with Bitpanda GmbH. Read the 0.99% premium and the 0.00%–2.49% range on the 20-second quote, not in an old summary. And note that on 14 August 2026 the FMA published a €70,000 fine for MiCAR white-paper and marketing breaches, and that on 1 October 2026 it opened a legality review of that publication at Bitpanda’s request. The authorisation notice has no withdrawal date.
