Three ways a spot price is published.

A 0.25% on a book and a 0.25% single fee do not describe the same order. This guide separates the models. The round-trip arithmetic example is in the total-cost guide.

Maker and taker

On a book, an order that rests pays maker and one that matches immediately pays taker. Bitvavo publishes 0.15% and 0.25% on the first EUR tier. Bit2Me Pro publishes 0.5% and 0.6% from €0 to €2,000, without Space Center. A limit order can pay taker if it fills at once. The profile’s percentage is for that product, not for the Wallet or a quoted purchase.

A single fee or a principal

Bybit EU, from 5 October 2026, publishes a single fee. The starting tier is 0.2500%, with no maker column. Crypto.com publishes 0.8% for buy, sell and exchange on the app and says it converts as principal. Neither figure is Bitvavo’s taker, even when 0.2500% looks similar.

Fee plus spread

Revolut shows the rate, the fee and the total before you accept, except for spare-change round-ups. Standard and Plus start at 1.49% in the PDF and the product spread can sit between 0% and 3%. Coinbase, on the EEA simple purchase, also points to the quote and the charges on screen. Comparing only 1.49% with 0.8% leaves the spread out.

What to add after the percentage

The deposit, the withdrawal and the plan change the total. The total-cost guide does the round-trip arithmetic with explicit assumptions for Bitvavo and Kraken. Do not reuse that arithmetic for Bybit or Revolut: their exit rules are not that example’s. The provider’s screen is still the amount of the transaction.
