Raydium review

Raydium supports token swaps and liquidity on Solana. AMM v4, CPMM and CLMM have different conditions. Swap users should assess final output; liquidity providers also need a range and asset-composition plan.

Best of Raydium

Direct pool execution and liquidity management.

  • Different pool configurations suit different pairs.
  • CLMM supports chosen ranges and claimable active-liquidity fees.
  • CPMM/CLMM separate trader charges from internal distribution.

Areas to improve

Size, pool and route shape the result.

  • AMM v4’s 0.25% does not describe every CPMM or CLMM.
  • Out-of-range CLMM liquidity stops earning active trading fees.
  • Pool creation and swap execution have different costs.

When Raydium is useful

Raydium suits a Solana wallet user seeking swaps or direct liquidity management. For a token purchase, begin with route, output and network costs rather than becoming an LP automatically.

Constant-product pools and range positions distribute capital differently. Both can earn fees without representing the same strategy. The custody guide separates wallet holdings from capital committed to contracts.

AMM v4, CPMM and CLMM

AMM v4 is the older constant-product model with a 0.25% tier. Reserves and swap size affect execution price. A known fee percentage does not guarantee the same price for every amount.

CPMM uses AmmConfig parameters; CLMM adds concentrated liquidity and tick spacing. Configuration matters as well as version: the same pair can exist with different tiers.

CLMM pays trading fees only to active liquidity, which providers claim. A selected range defines where capital participates. Outside it, composition can change and active fee income stops. Monitoring is part of the strategy.

LaunchLab is a separate route with pre-graduation pricing. Its 1% is not used as an ordinary established-pool swap rate. Nor are unexamined perpetual terms assigned to these spot pools.

Trader rates and internal shares

AMM v4 charges 0.25%. On hypothetical 1,000 USDC input, that isolates 2.50 USDC in fees. The rest enters the exchange curve; it does not guarantee 997.50 units of output when buying another asset.

CLMM examples include 0.01% stable, 0.05% correlated, 0.25% volatile and 1% long-tail tiers. The researched mainnet configuration list extends to 4%. These examples guide pool design; the actual selected pool determines pricing.

The documented CPMM list starts at 0.005%. Do not copy the CLMM menu or assume all configurations exist in both. On 1,000 input units, 0.005% is 0.05 units and 0.25% is 2.50, but depth can still favour a different route.

CLMM/CPMM distribute 84% of trading fees to LPs, 12% to RAY buyback and 4% treasury. At a 0.25% tier, those equal 0.2100%, 0.0300% and 0.0100% of notional. They divide the existing charge rather than add to it.

Certain shared spot routes can add a documented 1% referral charge. It is not the LP distribution or a charge on every Raydium swap. Compare the actual transaction breakdown rather than treating a shared-link condition as universal.

Creation differs from joining liquidity

CPMM or v4 pool creation costs 0.15 SOL plus rent. CLMM lacks that same creation charge but still needs rent. These are pool-creation terms, not costs to add to every swap.

CLMM initial pricing matters. A seed price away from market can be arbitraged against supplied liquidity. Understand the relative price and range rather than simply selecting a pair and confirming.

Joining an existing pool avoids setting some creation parameters but retains asset and range exposure. Fee income does not guarantee outperforming holding original tokens. Composition can shift as prices move.

Plan withdrawal and fee collection before entering. Rent relates to Solana accounts rather than a percentage trading charge. Repeatedly adjusting small positions can consume a meaningful share of fee income.

Solana wallet preparation

Input assets must be the appropriate Solana representation. A CEX withdrawal must match. The transfer guide explains network and destination checks; an identically named EVM token is not automatically ready for a Solana pool.

Connect a compatible wallet, choose pair and size, then inspect assets and route. Keep SOL available for network and account costs. Conversion and bridging before arrival can outweigh a low percentage.

A completed swap returns an output token. Liquidity positions instead commit capital requiring a separate withdrawal action. Disconnection does not perform that exit or change exposure.

Routes, slippage and actual size

A route can use multiple pools, with terms at each hop. Compare total output rather than one pool’s charge. A longer route may still compensate through liquidity or pricing.

Slippage tolerance limits accepted quote movement, not a mandatory fee. Price impact depends on size and liquidity. Raising tolerance can accept a less favourable result.

Use the intended nominal. A small test does not establish the same effective price for a much larger trade. The cost guide separates gas, pool fees and execution without adding internal distributions twice.

Keys, positions and signatures

Wallet control does not remove contract or transaction risk. A CLMM position relates to a network account. Swap, creation, liquidity entry and withdrawal signatures should match the intended action.

Keep recovery independent and inspect wallet instructions. The security guide covers access planning; Solana operations should not be assumed to behave exactly like an ERC-20 approval.

Direct pools versus aggregation

Jupiter aggregates Solana routes, while Raydium supplies pools and liquidity positions. For a one-off swap, compare identical assets and size by final output. Neither aggregation nor direct execution automatically wins.

Uniswap and PancakeSwap offer other chains and AMM versions. For initial bank funding, Coinbase or Kraken may serve an earlier step. Raydium is most useful when the goal is already on Solana and you distinguish swapping from liquidity provision.

Who may find it suitable?

Raydium supports token swaps and liquidity on Solana. AMM v4, CPMM and CLMM have different conditions. Swap users should assess final output; liquidity providers also need a range and asset-composition plan.

Our review of Raydium

Raydium is useful for studying Solana pools and managing liquidity directly. Compare a one-off swap against aggregation by final output. For CLMM, fee selection is only the start: initial price, range and exit planning determine how capital works.

Frequently asked questions

Is Raydium always 0.25%?

No. That is AMM v4. CLMM and CPMM use pool configurations with other tiers.

Is the 84% LP share extra?

No. It is inside CLMM/CPMM trading fees. At a 0.25% tier it equals 0.21% of notional within the total.

Does pool creation cost the same as a swap?

No. CPMM/v4 creation costs 0.15 SOL plus rent. A swap uses the existing pool’s terms.

Are Jupiter and Raydium the same?

No. Jupiter aggregates routes; Raydium supplies pools and liquidity positions. An aggregated route can use several venues.
