Areas to improve
Costs and limitations that matter
- Other ordinary crypto buying and selling costs 0.95%, minimum EUR 0.01.
- Staking retains 15% of ETH/SOL rewards and 25% of ADA rewards.
- The connected Bitstamp workflow lists market orders only and no in-app staking.
App-based simplicity still needs a cost comparison
Robinhood Crypto may interest someone who prefers euro purchases to starting with an order book. Fewer buying decisions do not remove the need to compare price, asset quantity and fees. The European schedule charges 0.95% on euro execution value except for EURC. Workflow may matter more for an occasional buyer, while the percentage accumulates for someone trading repeatedly.
This review covers Robinhood Europe, UAB rather than US terms. Connecting a Bitstamp account creates another workflow as well. Decide which route you are evaluating before assuming a function advertised elsewhere in the app belongs to your account. A common brand or account connection does not make every product identical.
Review product terms and risks before trading.
Crypto buying, EURC and separately budgeted products
Ordinary buying and selling applies a charge to euro execution value. EURC has a buying and selling fee exception, but that does not make it risk-free or a bank account. Evaluate what you need to do with the asset and its funding and exit route. The stablecoin guide distinguishes tokens, currencies and platform balances.
ETH, SOL and ADA staking and perpetuals are separate choices. Classic stock tokens also differ from spot crypto or shares held through another brand service. The schedule lists 0.10% EUR/USD conversion for that token line without another trading fee in that entry. It is not the rate for BTC purchases or perpetual execution.
Putting 0.95% into a buying and selling budget
A hypothetical EUR 1,000 execution costs EUR 9.50 at 0.95%. Selling later at the same notional adds EUR 9.50, for EUR 19 across both executions before other components. This does not assume an unchanged asset price: the actual selling amount can differ. Calculate each execution on its own value.
The minimum is EUR 0.01. On very small trades, a minimum can represent a different effective proportion from the headline percentage. Compare the same outlay and buying mode elsewhere, rather than using another provider’s lowest professional tier. This purchase schedule is not a maker/taker table.
Connecting Bitstamp is a separate action: the article says connection has no fee, not that subsequent trading is free. Distinguish linking accounts, buying and withdrawing instead of pricing an entire routine from one fee-free step.
| Product or movement | Published terms |
|---|---|
| Ordinary buying and selling | 0.95%, minimum EUR 0.01; EURC fee-free |
| Crypto transfer | EUR 0 Robinhood charge + network |
| Staking | 15% of ETH/SOL rewards; 25% ADA |
| Perpetuals: Robinhood + venue | 0.02% + 0% maker; 0.02% + 0.02% taker |
| Liquidation | 0.05% of USD notional |
SEPA and the bank eligible for withdrawals
European support documents SEPA funding and withdrawals. Deposits allow up to EUR 250,000 per business day, or EUR 100,000 daily with SEPA Instant Credit. Withdrawals allow up to EUR 100,000 per business day. These are limits rather than recommended amounts or promises that every bank handles payments identically.
Withdrawals go to a bank from which a deposit has already completed; the workflow does not allow manually adding a new bank account. If you plan to sell and receive euros at a particular bank, consider that connection before needing the exit. An article without a quoted transfer charge does not establish a free service.
Crypto transfers list EUR 0 charged by Robinhood Europe plus the network fee. Check asset and network for every movement; a network charge belongs to the transfer rather than buying or selling. Our euro withdrawal guide separates sale proceeds from bank transfers.
Reward retention for ETH, SOL and ADA
Staking pricing retains 15% of ETH and SOL rewards and 25% of ADA rewards. These are not automatic deductions from the whole capital balance. With a hypothetical reward of ten units before that charge, 15% retention leaves 8.5 units and 25% leaves 7.5. The example does not forecast how much will be earned.
Compare net rewards, participation terms and your need for the asset. One token’s staking eligibility does not establish another’s or a fixed euro return. If you intend to sell soon or transfer to a wallet, adding staking has a different role from using it in a longer holding plan.
Robinhood and venue charges are separate components
Perpetuals list Robinhood charges of 0.02% maker and 0.02% taker, alongside venue charges of 0.00% maker and 0.02% taker. Adding only those components gives 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker per execution. That does not necessarily capture every position-holding cost. Liquidation is separate at 0.05% of USD notional.
On a hypothetical USD 5,000 notional, those combined execution components cost USD 1 for maker and USD 2 for taker. This is neither a USD 5,000 initial investment calculation nor a margin requirement: contract notional and collateral differ. Our spot and futures guide and funding guide explain why a small percentage need not mean a simple product.
Connecting Bitstamp changes the available workflow
The connection documentation lists SEPA Instant and SEPA Credit Transfer and market orders only. Limit, stop and stop-limit orders are described as forthcoming in that flow; do not plan as if already enabled. Staking is also unavailable to Bitstamp clients in the Robinhood app under the documented route.
Debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay are marked coming soon, while international transfers and PayPal are unavailable in that workflow. Those terms cover connected Bitstamp rather than every Robinhood account. If you need other order types, compare the Bitstamp review and the specific service before linking accounts.
An app balance differs from your own wallet
Buying through an app and keeping its balance does not equal controlling private keys in a personal wallet. Robinhood Europe, UAB identifies this offering; connected-flow documentation also names Bitstamp Europe S.A. Understand the service being used and keep movement records rather than assuming one connection merges all contractual relationships.
Protect access and recovery, then decide between keeping an operational balance and transferring crypto. The account security guide covers access, while our custody guide compares centralized accounts with personal wallets. Brand familiarity is not a guarantee of your assets’ value.
When Coinbase, Bitvavo or Bitstamp provide useful comparisons
Coinbase offers a comparison between simple buying and a separate trading mode within one brand. Bitvavo provides euro maker/taker markets, particularly relevant for repeated trades. Use your frequency and notional rather than a minimum rate for a mode you would not use.
Robinhood may fit if you value the app workflow and understand the products you need. For limit-price orders, execution strategies or Bitstamp’s broader workflow, examine those functions separately. A convenient connection without a fee should not decide where to trade by itself.
Who may find it suitable?
Robinhood Crypto combines euro crypto purchases with separately priced staking and perpetuals. Choosing well means distinguishing an ordinary European account from a Bitstamp account connected to the app: their functions do not all match.
Our review of Robinhood Crypto
Robinhood Crypto may suit someone who values a simple app-based buying workflow and wants to understand its additional products. At 0.95%, frequent trading deserves comparison with order-book alternatives. Connecting Bitstamp can be convenient, but does not provide every function of an ordinary European account.

Does every crypto purchase cost 0.95%?
The European schedule lists 0.95%, minimum EUR 0.01, for ordinary buying and selling, with fee-free EURC as an exception. Perpetuals are priced separately.
Can I withdraw to any new bank account?
The documented SEPA workflow requires a bank from which a deposit already completed. It does not support manually adding a bank for that withdrawal.
Do perpetuals only cost 0.02%?
Not always. Robinhood and venue components combine to 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker in the published entries, with liquidation separate.
Does connecting Bitstamp enable staking and limit orders in the app?
Not under the documented workflow: it lists market orders only and no in-app staking for Bitstamp clients.
