What to check first

An on-chain deposit moves crypto you already own into Bybit EU. Prepare the receiving details first, then configure the withdrawal in the sending wallet or exchange: a matching ticker does not guarantee compatible networks.

1. Prepare the deposit at the destination

You need account access and must know the asset and network holding the sending balance.

Open Assets and Deposit on Bybit EU. Do not reuse an address from an old screenshot or another similarly named account. Select the asset first and inspect the networks offered on its current deposit page. This workflow is not a bank transfer, card purchase or deposit to international Bybit. Our Bybit review helps identify the product before sending.

Check that the sender supports withdrawal through one of those same networks. In a wallet, also check the native asset available for gas; at another exchange, inspect the amount arriving after its withdrawal charge. If funds are on another network, do not send to an apparently valid address before resolving compatibility. A form accepting an address does not establish that the deposit will be credited.

2. Obtain the correct address, network and memo

Valid details are those shown for that asset and network in your account.

  • Select the coin, then its available deposit chain. Read the notices and conditions before copying.
  • Copy the address or use the QR code, then inspect what the sending application actually received.
  • If a memo or Destination Tag is required, copy it into the sender’s corresponding field too.
  • Check the minimum, confirmations and supported transfer method. Retain transaction details without disclosing account credentials.

A tag identifies the beneficiary within some shared deposits; it is not an optional reminder. XRP and some TON deposits illustrate why you must follow the receiver’s requirements rather than a universal rule based on the ticker. A token contract is not your deposit address either. USDT transfer networks explains how ERC20, TRC20 and other representations change the route.

3. Configure and confirm the outgoing transfer

With receiving details ready, move to the wallet or platform currently holding the coins.

Open the asset’s send or withdrawal function. Enter the address, network, required tag and amount. Compare the pasted address with the original rather than relying on a saved recipient name. Check net proceeds against the deposit minimum; an undersized test may fall below the threshold and fail to credit. The sender’s charge and receiver’s minimum are different concepts.

Confirm the summary and complete the sender’s requested authentication. If making a test transfer, verify receipt before sending the remainder, using current details rather than assuming an address is permanent. For another exchange as sender, transferring crypto between exchanges covers checks at both ends. Moving funds internally between Funding and UTA does not require this blockchain withdrawal.

4. Calculate the amount that will actually arrive

Plan using the actual transfer figures rather than a universal fee for each cryptocurrency.

Deposit amounts
ItemCheck
SenderSpendable balance and sending or withdrawal charge.
ReceiverNet quantity above the displayed deposit minimum.
GasNative asset needed when sending from a wallet.

Hypothetical example: the sender deducts one unit from a 50-unit withdrawal and the receiver shows a ten-unit minimum. The resulting 49 units exceed that threshold. A five-unit test would deliver four and fail the condition. These figures illustrate the check only; they do not establish Bybit EU fees, minimums or supported networks. Read the sender’s received-amount field and receiver’s notice.

The technical transfer method matters too. A smart-contract withdrawal or special transfer type can have different conditions from a direct send. Read deposit remarks before using an application that batches payments. Spot trading support does not establish transfer compatibility: a market and blockchain deposit route are separate services. Total costs helps separate this movement from a subsequent purchase.

5. Track confirmations and locate Funding or UTA

The sender finishing its side does not mean funds are already available for trading.

Find the transaction reference in the sender’s withdrawal history and inspect its status on the correct network. Bybit EU requires the confirmations shown for that deposit; there is no universal count or timeframe. Then inspect the account’s deposit history. A transaction still awaiting network confirmation differs from a confirmed transfer pending a platform check.

The default destination is Funding. The “Deposits auto channeled to your Unified Trading Account” option routes deposits to UTA according to its setting. Check that configuration and both balances before concluding funds are missing. If the deposit requires wallet-address identification or verification, complete the account process; more confirmations do not replace it. Once credited, the Bybit spot guide continues with trading rather than another deposit.

6. Troubleshoot a missing deposit

Gather network, asset, amount, address and transaction reference before contacting support.

If the sender does not show a completed withdrawal, resolve its authorisation or review first. For an on-chain transaction, compare address, network, tag and minimum with the generated deposit. A missing tag, unsupported asset or incompatible transfer method is not fixed by sending more without instructions. Retain evidence and use account support without sharing a wallet recovery phrase.

When history shows crediting, inspect Funding, UTA and reserved amounts before treating it as a network problem. For a later self-custody withdrawal, withdrawing to a personal wallet reverses the process: the wallet becomes the destination that must support the network. Keep deposit, internal transfer and withdrawal references separate to reconstruct each balance movement.

Final checklist

Review these points before taking the next step.

  • Asset and network supported at both ends.
  • Address freshly checked.
  • Required memo or tag included.
  • Compatible transfer method.
  • Net amount above the minimum.
  • History, confirmations and receiving account checked.

Common mistakes

Small checks for a more considered decision.

Testing below the minimum

A test must also meet deposit conditions.

Looking only in UTA

Funding is the default unless routing is configured otherwise.

Confusing markets and networks

A trading pair does not establish a deposit chain.

FAQs

Does every deposit need a memo?

No. Include it with the address when the selected deposit requires it. Do not invent a tag when the receiver requests none.

Where is the deposit credited?

Funding by default; check whether automatic UTA routing is enabled and inspect both balances and history.

Can I send a tiny test amount?

Only if the net amount meets the receiver’s minimum and sender’s conditions. An undersized test may not credit.

Does blockchain confirmation mean available funds?

Not always. Required confirmations or account checks may remain outstanding. Inspect history and the deposit instructions.
