What to check first

The destination here is a wallet whose keys you control, rather than another exchange account. Prepare the receiving wallet, verify the withdrawal and retain what you need to move the funds later.

1. Prepare the wallet before withdrawing

Choose the receiving asset and chain before copying any address.

Open or create the wallet in its official app or extension and confirm access to the intended account. Keep recovery credentials out of the exchange form. A device password or saved public address is not a substitute for what restores control. With a hardware wallet, verify the receiving address on its own screen where supported.

Unlike moving between exchanges, you are not waiting for another provider to credit its internal ledger. You are checking a blockchain transaction and the balance at your address. For Ethereum and EVM networks, follow MetaMask with an exchange; for Solana, use receiving and sending with Phantom.

2. Match asset, representation and network

The address is only part of the instruction. The exchange must withdraw the asset your wallet accepts on that chain.

Open Receive for the intended chain and compare it with active withdrawal options. Switching the displayed wallet network does not move funds already on another chain. If the routes do not match, choose a different plan before sending; a bridge would be a separate operation with its own costs and risks. A matching withdrawal does not require a bridge.

3. Complete the exchange withdrawal request

Choose an on-chain withdrawal to an external address. An internal transfer by email or account ID is a different operation.

  • Choose the purchased asset and open an on-chain withdrawal on the exchange.
  • Paste the receiving wallet address and select its compatible network. Do not type it from memory.
  • Include a memo or tag only when the receiving instructions require one; do not invent one.
  • Check amount, minimum, fee and net receipt. Recheck the full address in the final summary.
  • Complete authentication and any recipient information requested by the provider, correctly identifying your own wallet.

Coins reserved by orders or used as collateral can make withdrawable funds lower than the total. Only cancel orders you intend to cancel or release funds according to that product’s rules. A displayed total is not necessarily available. The Bybit and LBank reviews provide product context; the withdrawal screen supplies the actual charge.

4. Choose a test amount and calculate the net

A test helps establish the route if it meets minimums without consuming a disproportionate share of the transfer.

Compare the account deduction with what the wallet will receive. Some forms deduct the charge from the entered amount; others add it. Read the summary rather than assuming a formula. A test followed by another send can mean paying two withdrawal charges. There is no universal test amount for BTC, ETH, SOL or a token.

For illustration, requesting 50 units with a one-unit fee deducted from that amount leaves 49 at the destination. If the fee is added instead, 51 leaves the account and 50 arrives. These explain form calculations, not platform rates. Verify the test on the explorer and in the wallet before reusing the route. See total cost when deciding whether to combine transfers.

5. Verify receipt using the hash and address

The exchange request identifier and blockchain transaction hash may differ.

Start with withdrawal history. A request under review may not yet have a hash; that does not establish a blockchain failure. Once a TXID exists, use the explorer for the selected network to check status, recipient, asset and amount. Do not search a Solana transfer in Ethereum’s explorer or rely on a page for another chain.

If the chain confirms receipt at your address but the token is absent from the wallet display, check the selected account, network and token visibility. Importing a token changes the display; it does not execute another transfer. Avoid adding unknown unsolicited tokens. Keep the hash and withdrawal record for later checks or a support query.

6. Reserve gas and troubleshoot a missing transfer

Receiving a token does not necessarily give you the coin needed to send it again.

On an ordinary route, USDT on Ethereum needs ETH for the next transaction; USDT on Solana needs SOL. The withdrawal charge you already paid does not automatically fund later wallet transactions. Some wallets offer alternative gas payment or sponsored routes under specific conditions. Check the actual transaction option rather than relying on it before receiving funds.

Without a hash, investigate the sender’s status. With a failed hash, inspect the result and any returned balance. With a successful hash to another address or chain, do not resend blindly: recovery depends on control of the destination and is not guaranteed. For a display-only issue, correct account, network or token visibility. Self-custody versus an exchange explains the responsibilities after withdrawal.

Final checklist

Review these points before taking the next step.

  • Correct wallet and account.
  • Recovery credentials stored safely.
  • Asset and chain supported at both ends.
  • Address and any required memo checked.
  • Net amount and minimums reviewed.
  • Hash, receipt and future gas checked.

Common mistakes

Small checks for a more considered decision.

Pasting a contract

A contract identifies a token; it is not your receiving address.

Choosing only by cost

A cheaper incompatible chain is not a usable withdrawal route.

Sending more to fix it

Diagnose the hash and destination before repeating a mistake.

FAQs

Must I connect the wallet to withdraw?

An on-chain withdrawal normally uses your public address. Connecting a wallet to a site is separate and does not replace checking address and network.

Does a personal wallet need a tag?

Only if that destination requires one. Do not reuse a tag from a different exchange deposit as a universal instruction.

Why did I receive less than requested?

Check whether the charge was deducted from the amount and whether the units match. The summary and withdrawal record separate amount from fee.

Can a confirmed transfer be cancelled?

A confirmed blockchain transfer cannot be reversed using an exchange button. Check the entire route before approving the request.
