Bybit vs Bitfinex

International Bybit combines contracts, copying and bots; Bitfinex warrants a specific comparison for order options, APIs and financing. Its zero execution rate does not remove the other costs in a workflow.

Products and trading

Crypto-to-crypto and fiat-to-crypto spot; the international service also documents futures/perpetuals and Classic copying. Each mode has separate terms.

Spot, margin, peer funding and derivatives as distinct products.

Spot: maker, taker and buying

VIP 0 crypto-to-crypto: 0.10%/0.10% maker/taker. Fiat-to-crypto below USD 100,000 of volume: 0.15%/0.20%. This is not the Bybit EU schedule.

The current schedule lists 0% maker and 0% taker for spot/margin execution; financing and transfers remain separate.

Discounts and tiers

VIP 1 crypto-to-crypto spot: 0.0675% maker and 0.08% taker. Actual fees depend on account, region and market; My Fee Rate shows the applicable rate.

The compared reference is zero execution; no assumed LEO discount is needed.

Futures: fees

VIP 0 futures/perpetuals: 0.0200% maker and 0.0550% taker on notional. Special pairs, region and account tier may change the rate.

Derivative execution:0% maker/taker on the schedule; collateral and holding costs depend on the contract.

Contracts, margin and funding

Dated futures and perpetuals are different contracts. Perpetual funding passes between longs/shorts at the pair’s rate and interval; isolated and cross margin have different collateral exposure.

Margin and derivatives require product collateral and funding terms; zero execution does not mean free borrowing.

Copy trading

Classic uses derivatives fees and the account’s applicable VIP tier, plus funding and leader terms. Execution, minimum sizes and closing when unfollowing matter.

Bots: grid, DCA and automation

Spot Grid trades a range, DCA schedules purchases and Futures Grid trades perpetual contracts. No bot-use fee; executions and applicable funding are charged.

API and connections

V5 API with a separate demo service and its own key; it supports market data and the listed order, position and account endpoints.

REST/WebSocket API for data and trading; control permissions, orders and balances.

Demo account

International spot and UTA derivatives demo on web and app with simulated assets. It is distinct from Testnet and is not live-money execution.

Deposits and fiat methodsNo comparable data

No platform crypto-deposit charge. Ordinary wire:0.1%, minimum 60 USD/EUR. OpenPayd EUR/GBP up to 10,000:5 per transfer, by route.

Withdrawals

On-chain withdrawals: the selected network fee is shown before sending; there is no single charge for every asset.

Ordinary wire:0.1%, minimum 100 USD/EUR; express 1%, minimum 125. OpenPayd has a separate schedule.

Assets and transfer networks

On-chain withdrawals require choosing the asset and blockchain; the screen displays that network’s fee. Assets do not all share the same supported networks.

Crypto transfers depend on asset/chain; free internal transfers do not establish free external withdrawals.

Platforms and differences in use

Limit, Market and post-only control different aspects of execution. Post-only cancels an order that would take liquidity; it does not guarantee later execution.

Limit, market, stop, FOK and IOC orders; OCO, hidden, post-only or reduce-only options by product.

Orders and API

Bitfinex offers distinct execution and financing choices to assess.

Complete cost

Include the bank or crypto route and holding costs.

Two ways to organise advanced trading

This compares international Bybit, not its EU terms, with documented Bitfinex products. The criterion is preparing orders, capital and exit. Bybit combines manual trading with Classic and bots; Bitfinex distinguishes exchange, margin, funding and derivatives. Accounts and collateral under one brand are not necessarily one spendable balance.

The Bybit and Bitfinex reviews expand each platform. Decide between unborrowed coin trading, a margin position and a derivative before pricing it. API access makes neither the products equivalent nor their results guaranteed. For a simple purchase, a first Bybit purchase follows a different path from configuring an advanced strategy.

Zero Bitfinex execution is not zero total cost

Bitfinex currently lists 0% maker/taker for spot and margin execution and zero derivative execution. International Bybit VIP0 lists 0.10% per side for crypto-to-crypto spot and 0.020%/0.055% for futures/perpetuals. Those are not Bybit EU rates, and zero execution means neither free borrowing nor free withdrawal.

A hypothetical USDT 10,000 crypto-to-crypto spot fill at 0.10% costs 10 on Bybit versus zero under the cited Bitfinex schedule. Average fill, funding and withdrawal remain unpriced. At smaller size, a bank route with minimum charges can outweigh execution savings. Keep asset and purchase type equivalent for the example to be useful.

Order options and order-book control

Bitfinex documents limit, market, stop, FOK and IOC orders with options including OCO, hidden, post-only or reduce-only by product. Their usefulness depends on capping price, conditioning an exit or preventing an exit instruction from adding exposure. Not every combination exists in every panel. Bybit likewise requires choosing order and product before submission.

Neither brand receives an assumed book-depth advantage. Compare spread and available levels at the intended size. OCO links instructions without guaranteeing an exact exit; manual cancellation can require checking the other instruction under its rules. Inspect partial fills and reserved funds before resubmitting. Market and limit orders explains price control still needed with zero fees.

To separate price and fee, compare executable quotes at equal size. A 0.10% price difference on a hypothetical 10,000 notional represents 10 units, matching the example’s spot-fee reference. This establishes neither book as better; it shows why received coins and final expenditure matter rather than automatically choosing zero execution pricing.

Interest, funding and unavailable capital

Bitfinex peer funding, Borrow and margin terms are separate from execution fees. Zero execution does not establish the interest payable for borrowed capital. Bybit derivative funding is another variable item. A margin loan and a perpetual settlement are not the same service under different names.

Budget own capital, any borrowing, notional and duration. Funds reserved in orders or collateral can make withdrawable balance lower than the displayed total. Check positions and obligations before moving money. Funding and total cost separate execution, holding and exit without inventing strategy returns.

APIs, automation and bank funding

Bitfinex documents REST and WebSocket for data and trading. Bybit adds product-specific bot and Classic workflows without requiring a custom API. Compare permissions, limits, order history and how to stop the strategy. Bybit bots and international Classic explain those paths without assigning them to EU.

Ordinary Bitfinex wires list 0.1% with a 60 USD/EUR deposit minimum and 100 withdrawal minimum. OpenPayd follows a separate schedule: EUR/GBP transfers up to 10,000 list 5 per operation on the available route. On a hypothetical ordinary EUR 1,000 wire round trip, minimums total 160 before trading. That calculation does not cover every route or establish universal OpenPayd access.

API automation also needs a plan for a missing response. Resubmitting without checking the previous request can duplicate exposure. Compare order and trade history, identifiers used by the software and how new instructions are disabled. Permission control and balance reconciliation remain necessary even when execution pricing is zero.

Questions about Bybit and Bitfinex

Does Bitfinex charge spot execution fees? Its current table lists zero maker/taker. Does that make every workflow free? No: quote, financing and transfers still matter. Compare the complete route and charges applicable to the account.

Does this compare Bybit EU futures? No; Bybit terms here are international. Does API access establish better performance? No; it is a data and execution channel requiring appropriate permissions and controls.

Choose tools with a complete budget

Bybit is relevant for combining contracts, copying and automation within its account workflows. Bitfinex merits attention when order options, APIs or financing are central and its funding/exit route suits the intended size. No superior liquidity or unmeasured personal experience is attributed.

Use a repeatable case: same asset, notional, order type, duration and final destination. Compare costs and operational control rather than a zero or button count. Bybit versus Binance adds an advanced alternative, while wallet withdrawals completes a workflow intended to end in self-custody.

How to make the decision

  1. Define the trade

Buying and withdrawing coins, margined contracts and copying require different products.

  2. Calculate the whole journey

Add opening and closing execution where applicable, funding and moving money; use the rate for your trading mode.

  3. Choose the tools you need

Compare orders, capital controls, API permissions or demo practice according to how you trade.

The decision depends on how you trade.
