  • Crypto withdrawal is around EUR 15 and can increase with network costs.

For users seeking more than a purchase order

Amdax is relevant to users seeking asset custody or portfolio management alongside execution. That serves a different need from frequent small book orders. Distinguish self-directed decisions and managed strategies. Managed use involves the service and its cost layers. The January 2026 schedule allows separate calculations; the execution rate is not treated as including all management, nor the annual custody charge as an inactivity penalty. They price different services.

Execution, custody and management in one relationship

Amdax B.V.’s entry and the schedule describe execution, custody, management and transfers. A proprietary maker/taker book or futures offering is not inferred merely from crypto services. Direct buying concerns the executed order and held asset; Core concerns a managed portfolio and its transactions. The custody guide explains holding assets through a custody service. Maintaining, executing and delegating are separate cost categories.

Execution charges and the price of holding assets

The PDF effective 1 January 2026 lists 0.7% of transaction value. A hypothetical EUR 2,000 order produces EUR 14 in that component. Separate custody is 0.6% annually, calculated daily and billed monthly, not 0.6% each month. A constant hypothetical EUR 10,000 balance gives a EUR 60 annual reference before valuation changes and daily-calculation details. The document refers to current website rates, so these figures retain their date rather than promise permanent individual pricing.

Crypto withdrawalAround EUR 15; higher if network fees exceed that amount

Core1.6% annual management; 12% performance above high-water mark; 0.2% transaction

Daily calculation follows the asset balance

Daily custody calculation means held value matters between trades. If asset prices move, a fixed-balance annual budget is only an approximation. Monthly billing is the settlement frequency, not the annual rate. Assess holding duration and expected value. One purchase can create subsequent custody charges without new orders. A personal wallet is not an identical substitute because key control and recovery responsibilities differ. Evaluate the service against the custody need it solves.

What a Core strategy adds

Core lists 1.6% annual management, 12% performance above high-water mark and 0.2% per transaction. These have different bases and cannot simply be added into a supposed 13.8% annual charge. Core execution is not automatically every ordinary Amdax order’s rate. Self-directed users may not need this layer; users seeking delegation need it in the assessment before evaluating net results.

Understanding high-water mark through an example

High-water mark links performance charges to exceeding a previous peak reference. As an illustration, if EUR 1,000 of growth above EUR 10,000 were eligible above the applicable mark, 12% would be EUR 120. This does not determine an account’s contractual calculation, settlement date or expected return. Contributions and withdrawals need their own rules. It distinguishes charging on qualifying performance from charging on the entire portfolio; gross returns alone do not establish the user’s net result.

Portfolio activity also has a cost

Core’s 0.2% transaction charge uses its own execution base. Hypothetical aggregate transaction value of EUR 5,000 produces EUR 10 if applicable. It is not automatically one annual charge on the balance. Activity frequency and order size matter. Managed-strategy comparisons need consistent assumptions for management, performance and transactions. The total-cost guide organises those units without assuming more trading produces better or worse results.

Withdrawing euros or moving crypto elsewhere

The PDF lists free euro withdrawal and crypto withdrawal around EUR 15, higher when network fees exceed it. That is not a fixed price for every network. EUR 15 is 3% of a hypothetical EUR 500 equivalent movement or 0.3% of EUR 5,000, illustrating scale rather than another percentage fee. Euro cash-out and crypto transfer serve different needs. See the bank-exit guide and transfer guide.

A purchase followed by twelve months of custody

Separate from Core, a hypothetical EUR 10,000 order at 0.7% produces EUR 70 execution charges. A constant EUR 10,000 custody value over one year gives another EUR 60 at 0.6%, for EUR 130 across those two components before other movements and daily-calculation details. This does not automatically combine every Core layer; service scope needs its actual terms. Crypto withdrawal adds its own approximate cost. Buying once and subsequently holding are different economic stages, affected by value and actual duration.

Amdax versus an app or an order book

SwissBorg offers another app/service reference, while Kraken and Bitvavo provide other execution formats. A single book order is not equivalent to annual portfolio management. Custody comparisons need duration and value; Core adds performance and activity. Amdax may fit when those services meet an actual need. A small buy-and-transfer workflow has a different scale and horizon.

Who may find it suitable?

Amdax offers a different model from a continuously traded spot book: order execution, custody and portfolio management. Core strategies add their own management, transaction and performance charges.

Our review of Amdax

Amdax deserves attention for custody or management rather than only a low spot execution rate. Its structure separates holding costs and delegated decisions. Core needs assessment of all pricing layers; occasional trading without management requires a different comparison.
