What to check first

Follow the spot balance through a purchase and later sale, including pending orders and partial fills. Hypothetical examples explain price, quantity and costs without presenting a market quote or a recommended trade.

1. Prepare funds and locate Spot

Work with the chosen product’s balance rather than total account equity.

Confirm funding is credited and available for spot. Funds assigned to copying or futures require the relevant product transfer first; an open position is not free cash. Depositing USDT on LBank and copy trading cover those separate workflows.

  • On the web, open Trade → Spot and locate the order panel.
  • In the app, select Spot from the product selector rather than Futures.
  • Inspect the asset and available balance before preparing an order.

Use the LBank access here when an account is needed. For an already funded account, continue in spot. The LBank review explains its tools; LBank vs Gate helps choose a platform before transferring funds.

2. Choose the pair and read its rules

The quote currency determines how the purchase is funded and what a sale returns.

Search Spot by asset or full pair. In a BTC/USDT example, buying spends USDT for BTC and selling returns USDT. Neither operation is a bank withdrawal or futures contract. Confirm the intended market: a shared ticker does not establish that products deliver identical assets.

The web documents Setting → Trading Rules and Pair selection for precision, price steps and minimums. Inspect the actual market fee too: published spot bands are maker 0–0.20% and taker 0.10–0.20%, not one rate applying to every coin.

3. Buy with a market order

Prioritising execution does not establish the final average price in advance.

  • Select Buy and Market on the correct pair.
  • Enter the value or quantity requested and inspect its unit.
  • Review the summary and confirm once.
  • Inspect history below the chart and the purchased balance.

A purchase can match multiple offers. For a hypothetical USDT 100 notional, BTC received depends on available prices and fee treatment. A 0.20% rate represents USDT 0.20 in value; do not assume the deduction always uses USDT or ignore rounding when deriving the net balance.

If the response is delayed, inspect history and fills before pressing Buy again. Two accepted requests can become two purchases. Retain the identifier, quantity, average price and charge to distinguish the instruction from its actual execution.

4. Place a limit and manage the remainder

The price is an execution condition rather than a purchase guarantee.

Choose Limit, enter price and quantity and confirm the summary. Hypothetically, ten units with a USDT 2 maximum require up to USDT 20 notional before the applicable charge. The order can remain open if the market never reaches the price. Crossing existing offers can incur taker fees; Limit does not automatically mean maker.

Suppose four units fill and six remain outstanding. Cancelling releases the remainder’s reservation without undoing the four purchased units. Inspect the final state: a fill arriving before cancellation completes can change the balance. Market versus limit explains the general choice without replacing this LBank check.

5. Sell coins and verify the proceeds

Sell spends the available base asset.

Open Sell from the asset in Assets/Spot or switch direction on the original pair. Recheck order type instead of assuming the previous selection suits the sale. Enter an available quantity meeting the minimum and confirm the summary, rather than using a balance before charges or reservations.

A USDT-quoted sale produces USDT balance rather than bank cash. Continue with LBank USDT withdrawal for a wallet or another exchange. Altcoins and spot trading address different market-selection decisions.

6. Reconcile orders, fills and balances

Finish by checking results rather than the confirmation message alone.

The order describes the instruction; its fills show what traded. In history below the chart, compare pair, direction, state, filled quantity and charges. Partial orders can retain reservations for their remainder. Cancelled orders can contain earlier valid fills. Neither state alone establishes missing coins.

For a rejection, first inspect minimum, precision and free balance, then read the actual message. Conditional instructions require distinguishing triggering from execution and checking state afterwards. Spot OCO is not a futures control. Keep relevant records for account support without sharing passwords or security codes.

For spot versus following capital: LBank vs BingX.

For specific pair and exit checks, see buying ARB and buying ONDO.

To link two buy or sell scenarios, LBank OCO orders explains triggers, limits and cancellation of the other branch.

If you need to acquire the quote currency first, buying USDT by card helps compare fiat cost before trading.

Final checklist

Review these points before taking the next step.

  • Spot product and pair confirmed.
  • Available rather than total balance checked.
  • Price and quantity units understood.
  • Minimum and precision inspected.
  • Buy/Sell direction checked.
  • History and charges reconciled.

Common mistakes

Small checks for a more considered decision.

Repeating Buy

Inspect history before repeating an unanswered request.

Cancelling filled purchases

Cancelling the remainder does not undo fills.

Selling total balance

Reservations and fees can reduce available quantity.

FAQs

Why is a limit unfilled?

Price may not match, quantity may remain outstanding or a rule may reject it. Inspect status, price and pair minimum before replacing it.

How do I know the actual cost?

Inspect fills, quantity received, average price and fee. A pre-confirmation estimate does not replace the final record.

Where are the proceeds?

In the pair’s quote currency, subject to charges and adjustments. Locate that balance and treat later withdrawal separately.

Are every app order and web screen identical?

Do not assume so. Use the types offered by the specific product; web and app entry points can differ.
