What to check first

A euro deposit makes money available in your account; buying crypto comes afterwards. Follow the funding workflow from preparation through payment and reconciliation without confusing the two transactions.

1. Prepare your European account and choose a funding route

Start in Bybit EU and review the methods shown for your verified account.

Complete identity verification and use a payment account in your own name. European documentation separates fiat funding, card purchases and purchases using a balance: their outputs differ. Before paying, identify whether you are adding EUR or already buying a cryptoasset. The Bybit registration tutorial covers account preparation.

SEPA is a documented EUR funding route. Connected bank methods, cards and payment services may also appear, depending on residence and provider. A screenshot from another account does not establish your options: use your own funding screen. Compare the wider workflow in deposits and withdrawals.

2. Create a EUR deposit on the website or app

Generate the instruction before making the payment through its designated route.

  • On the website open Buy Crypto → Fiat Top Up; the current app FAQ uses Top Up → Top Up EUR.
  • Select EUR, enter the amount and choose an available payment method.
  • Review provider charges, estimated processing time and limits before continuing.
  • Read Deposit Instructions and identify the service processing that payment.

Labels can differ between versions. Your destination is a EUR fiat deposit, rather than an on-chain address or a spot order. Complete any required payment-account linking before sending money. Retain the deposit order identifier and summary so the bank payment can be matched to the right instruction.

3. Send a SEPA transfer with the correct reference

The beneficiary, IBAN and reference belong to that particular instruction.

Copy the newly generated details and recheck any saved beneficiary. Depending on the provider, a virtual account may need approval before the first deposit. That setup review is separate from the processing time of a transfer already sent. Enter any required reference exactly in the appropriate banking field.

Changing a payment description does not correct a third-party sender. A fiat transfer also does not need an Ethereum or TRON network. Once your bank records it as sent, keep the receipt and track it; repeating it because it is slow can create two separate deposits.

4. Separate deposit, provider and subsequent purchase costs

A funding charge and a spot trading fee are separate costs.

The European FAQ states that Bybit EU charges no exchange fiat-deposit fee. The payment provider may charge for processing, while your bank applies its own terms. Read the selected method’s quote. Do not assume a card costs the same as SEPA or that every amount sent equals the resulting net balance.

Hypothetical example: you send EUR 300 and the instruction specifies a EUR 2 external charge deducted from the deposit, leaving EUR 298 before buying. A separately charged fee could instead mean EUR 300 credited and EUR 302 paid overall. These illustrate accounting methods, not Bybit prices. Record your actual quote when calculating total cost.

5. Check Funding and use the credited euros

Bank completion and availability inside the exchange are different checks.

Compare the fiat deposit history with the bank receipt: status, currency and amount should agree. Fiat funds are credited to Funding. Follow the estimate for the selected method rather than assuming instant arrival. A bank-completed payment may still be processing or under provider review.

Once EUR is available, prepare a balance-funded purchase or transfer assets to the trading account required by the spot workflow. An internal transfer is not a purchase. Continue with Bybit spot trading or recurring purchases on Bybit EU. Avoid leaving duplicate purchases open while reconciling your funding.

6. What to check when a deposit is missing

Identify where the money stopped before making another payment.

If the bank has not debited you, the deposit instruction may only have been created. If a debit exists, match its reference to fiat history and check for provider information requests. Verify ownership, beneficiary, reference and EUR. Beyond the displayed timeframe, support can use the receipt and order number more effectively than a screenshot of your overall balance.

A refund in progress is not an instant return transfer. Follow its requested information and status. Switching to a crypto network cannot repair a bank deposit because they use different systems. Reconcile the debit, credited balance and charges before continuing to buy.

For the reverse movement, sending Bybit EU euros to a bank explains the linked receiving account and withdrawal tracking.

If you prefer purchasing the asset directly rather than depositing euros, compare Bybit EU card purchasing, with its separate quote and payment.

Final checklist

Review these points before taking the next step.

  • Verified Bybit EU account.
  • Method available to your account.
  • Correct owner and reference.
  • External charge reviewed.
  • Status and amount reconciled in Funding.

Common mistakes

Small checks for a more considered decision.

Confusing purchase and deposit

An operation delivering BTC is not a EUR deposit.

Paying again because it is slow

Check history before sending a second payment.

Reusing old payment details

Check the beneficiary in every new instruction.
