Best exchanges to buy Solana

Bybit EU and Bitvavo both have SOL/EUR books for a euro-funded purchase. With USDT you can compare LBank, international Bybit and Binance without converting to euros first. For a small wallet top-up, the deciding figure is often the SOL that actually arrives.

Best exchanges to buy Solana

The cards compare three routes: matching a book to your balance, funding from a euro account and converting existing USDT. Binance provides a second execution benchmark for SOL/USDT.

Spot SOL gives you a balance you can withdraw subject to minimums and enabled networks. A SOL perpetual does not deliver coins you can spend on the network.

How we build this selection

We assess two different purchases: building a SOL position and getting enough native SOL into a wallet to use it.

Bybit has the first card through our commercial partnership; Bitvavo, LBank and Binance give you alternatives for different balances and order preferences.

Methodology →Transparency →
  • Direct purchase

SOL/EUR for euro bank balances and SOL/USDT for stablecoin balances.

  • Execution control

An immediate fill and a resting order can incur different trading fees.

  • Native delivery

The withdrawal route must deliver the SOL the wallet can use to pay fees.

  • Top-up size

Compare the withdrawal minimum and net delivery with the SOL the recipient needs.

Topping up a wallet and accumulating SOL are different purchases

Imagine a wallet holding USDC on Solana but no SOL to pay for its next transaction. Its owner needs a small amount of native SOL delivered to the wallet. A slightly lower spot fee is of little use if the purchase falls below the withdrawal minimum. For someone accumulating SOL over several months, the priorities change: funding the account repeatedly and getting good fills matter more than the cost of a single future transfer.

Bybit EU or Bitvavo for a euro-funded SOL purchase?

Both platforms offer SOL/EUR. On a €400 buy that takes liquidity, the starting trading fee would be equivalent to €1 on either book. That does not guarantee the same amount of SOL: look at how many coins sellers offer at your price. If you can wait and your limit order rests on the book, Bitvavo’s entry maker fee would be €0.60 on a €400 fill, versus €1 at Bybit EU’s unified entry rate. The saving depends on actually getting a fill on those terms.

Bitvavo lists SEPA deposits with no platform fee and reports separate SOL deposit and withdrawal status. Bybit EU shows the euro funding methods available to the account. If you only need a wallet top-up, look at the withdrawal route before initiating a bank transfer. For frequent euro trading, the Bitvavo and Bybit comparison helps match the book to the orders you normally place.

Comparing LBank, Bybit and Binance with USDT already in hand

All three international books let you buy SOL directly with USDT. LBank’s published spot taker band does not by itself give you the rate for SOL/USDT. Check the pair and compare the amount received against an order of the same size on another book. International Bybit and Binance publish a standard 0.10% per side for the products shown, before discounts. There is no need to buy another token to compare base rates.

Binance supports LIMIT_MAKER on SOL/USDT. It suits someone who would rather have an order rejected than take liquidity immediately; it does not guarantee a purchase. If an app needs SOL today and you already hold USDT at LBank, waiting for a fill or moving the balance for a small rate saving may not be worthwhile. Bybit vs Binance goes further into their spot trading tools.

The deciding figure for a top-up: SOL delivered on Solana

Solana expresses transaction fees in lamports. The base fee is 5,000 lamports per signature, with a possible priority fee. That is not what an exchange has to charge for a withdrawal: the platform sets its fee and minimum and can pause transfers. Compare the net SOL shown on the withdrawal screen for the same purchase budget. This tells you much more than comparing a trading percentage with the cost of one network signature.

A Solana wallet needs native SOL to pay transaction fees. USDT on Solana uses that network but is still USDT. A product that follows SOL’s price is not sufficient either: a perpetual position cannot be withdrawn to a wallet as coins. For self-custody, choose a spot market and a withdrawal route that reaches the recipient’s chain.

Match the venue to the balance you have today

For regular bank-funded purchases, compare the euros credited and the SOL/EUR price at Bybit EU or Bitvavo. For a stablecoin-funded purchase, start with the balance you have and compare SOL after all transfers: LBank can save you moving USDT that is already there. For your first wallet transaction, getting enough native SOL takes priority even if another book advertises a smaller trading fee. Once you know where to buy, the practical Solana guide covers completing the purchase and checking delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Which exchange suits a small SOL purchase?

If you intend to withdraw, compare the minimum and net SOL first. Bitvavo publishes SOL network status; at Bybit and LBank you can check the route and fee on the withdrawal screen. To hold the balance on the exchange, compare the minimum order and spot price instead.

Do I need USDT before buying Solana?

Not on SOL/EUR: Bybit EU and Bitvavo let you use a euro balance. SOL/USDT is relevant when you hold the stablecoin already or when acquiring it makes more sense with your payment methods.

Does buying SOL help if withdrawals are unavailable today?

It can give you spot price exposure in the account, but it will not put gas in your wallet until the transfer arrives. If that is why you are buying, check network status before choosing the exchange.
