Best exchanges to buy BNB

Where to buy BNB starts with your funding balance: Bybit EU lists BNB/USDC, while LBank, Binance and international Bybit offer BNB/USDT. If the goal is gas on BNB Smart Chain, compare native delivery next. A BNB trading balance does not by itself fund your wallet.

How we build this selection

We compare the journey from the payment currency to usable BNB, rather than execution fees alone.

Bybit leads under our commercial priority. Alternatives are assessed for their use in the purchase, without claiming the lowest overall cost.

Methodology →Transparency →
  • Correct quote currency

The European BNB/USDC book is not treated as BNB/EUR or BNB/USDT.

  • Pair-level pricing

A general schedule does not replace a BNB/USDT-specific reference.

  • Destination network

BNB Smart Chain, opBNB and wrapped tokens are not interchangeable routes.

  • Use of balance

Separate BNB intended for gas from a balance spent on trading fees.

Buying BNB for gas or holding it on an exchange

BNB has two different jobs. On an exchange it is an asset traded on spot; on BNB Smart Chain it is the native currency used to pay for transactions. Buying it and leaving it on the exchange will not fund an app transaction from your wallet. To choose a venue for that purpose, compare delivery to your wallet’s chain and the withdrawal minimum. For holding a position, execution pricing and the cost of funding future buys matter more.

Bybit EU: BNB is quoted in USDC, not an implied euro price

Unlike the XRP and ADA examples, the European book documented here is BNB/USDC. Starting with euros in a bank requires obtaining USDC through an account-supported route or depositing it from elsewhere. That stablecoin purchase or conversion has its own price. This journey cannot be budgeted as a single BNB/EUR fill funded directly by SEPA.

For a hypothetical 1,000 USDC fill, the entry spot rate of 0.25% represents 2.50 USDC. That is the price of the fill alone: it excludes acquiring USDC and withdrawing BNB. With USDC already held on the platform, the journey is shorter. International Bybit uses a different BNB/USDT book and a VIP 0 crypto-to-crypto rate starting at 0.10%. The two rates belong to different products.

LBank, Binance and Bitget: comparing the same BNB/USDT purchase

With USDT available, compare how much BNB the same budget buys on each book. LBank’s general band does not guarantee 0.10% for BNB: consult the pair rules. Binance lists regular spot at 0.10% before discounts. Bitget’s public BNBUSDT symbol reference checked for this ranking is 0.002 per side, or 0.20%. A generic 0.10% headline for other circumstances does not replace that reference. Account-specific terms still determine the effective personal rate.

On a 1,000 USDT fill, a change from 0.10% to 0.20% takes the fee from 1 to 2 USDT. Different asks or the cost of moving the stablecoin can outweigh that gap. LBank vs Bybit considers an already funded account, while Bybit vs Binance compares their spot tools.

BNB Smart Chain, opBNB and WBNB: choosing the right delivery

A wallet needing gas on BNB Smart Chain needs native BNB on that chain. Some platforms label that route BEP20; Bitget lists it on the BNB asset. opBNB is another network, despite also using BNB for gas and displaying 0x addresses. A matching address does not prove a withdrawal will reach the balance an app expects. Match the recipient’s chain to the platform’s available route.

WBNB is a wrapped representation used by contracts; it does not automatically replace native gas for signing a transaction. Nor should a new purchase be planned around Beacon Chain/BEP2, retired under BNB Chain Fusion. Choosing a supposedly cheaper network without receiver support can turn a small fee difference into a transfer that fails to achieve its purpose.

BNB for Binance fees is not BNB reserved for a wallet

Optional BNB fee payment on Binance can change trading costs while consuming some of the balance. If you buy just enough for a withdrawal, check what remains available after fills. The discount does not pay the withdrawal charge or remove the minimum. For gas, prioritise sufficient delivery on the correct chain; for frequent trading, calculate savings from your actual volume. The BNB buying guide covers preparing funds and transferring the purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Does this ranking include a Bybit EU BNB/EUR pair?

No. The verified market is BNB/USDC. A euro balance requires a separate funding or conversion step before using that book.

Which BNB do I need for gas on BNB Smart Chain?

Native BNB on BNB Smart Chain. The exchange may label the network BSC or BEP20. Do not assume WBNB or a balance on opBNB funds a transaction from that wallet.

Does the lowest spot fee guarantee a cheaper BNB purchase?

No. Compare the available asks, acquiring the quote currency and net BNB after withdrawal. Moving USDT or USDC you already hold to save a small trading difference can make the full journey cost more.
